Allied Communities Network
The Allied Communities Network is a Johannesburg based PBO dedicated to the upliftment of health and welfare of South Africans. Founded by Mr. Alcon Dube, the organisation seeks the participation of people with a significant interest in the health, social and economic welfare of children, women, youth and vulnerable groups and invites their support through private giving.
Since 2013, the Institute of Tibb has partnered with the Allied Communities Network to support community health within the City of Johannesburg. To this end, the Allied-Tibb Community Oriented Care Programme entered into a Memorandum of Understanding in 2017 with the City of Jo’burg’s Department of Health to render mentoring and coaching to health promoters across the city’s seven regions.
The City of Johannesburg health Department representatives have been privy to the benefits of introducing Tibb Lifestyle Factors as an adjuvant to medical care. Extensive training that has been conducted by the Ibn Sina Institute of Tibb through the Allied Communities Network with over 3000 lifestyle advisors trained to date.
For the next three years, health promoters in the City of Johannesburg’s seven regions will provide ‘health promotion with a difference’ under supervision of regional managers as well as mentors trained by Tibb doctors.
